LOOK WHAT I COULD FIND vol 40
"Traci tease" - 16 tunes for Traci and every other tantalizing tease from the 80s

In The Trashcan Records       GEM040
"From the days that pictures in a dirty magazine was all you could get to come again and again..."

1. traci lords - los imposibles

Spanish garage rock outfit from Madrid "Talkin' about the old times". Formed in 1988 and disbanded around 2001 after a handful of releases on Animal Records, like this ode to the 80s queen of porn, Traci Lords.

9. i love traci lords - ronnie mack

Traci Lords turned 18 in 1986, the year Ronnie Mack declared his love to the best known porn actress from the 80s, who successfully switched to a "normal" acting career in movies such as "Cry-baby", next to Johnny Depp. This is no-nonsense neo-rockabilly Ricky Nelson-style (who died a couple of months before this release) featuring porn movie samples from a moaning Traci. Released on Lonesome Town, named after Nelson's finest song ever.

2. x x sex - fuzzbox

They were promised five minutes of fame, as Warhol once predicted. And then they should have vanished, like so many schoolgirls following a fad. They saw Jim Reid and his Jesus And Mary Chain and wanted to do the same. It's the overfuzzed, girlie punk garage version of X-Ray Spex, sax included. It's the summer of 1986 and teenage boys and girls were hot for this all-girl band, who thought Cindy Lauper was the wildest looking girl around. Young girls and sex... and drugs and rock 'n' roll.

10. come again (you make me wanna) - genocides

On Side A you can find the excellent version of Johnny Thunders' "Born to lose". This is Side 1, a 1977 styled punk anthem that completely failed because it was recorded five years too late. Too bad that these guys were totally ignored in their time. I would have liked to hear more than just two singles.

3. drag strip tease - the bomboras

Screaming Apple did it again: releasing a band's best track. I just love that fast grinding organ around the fuzz guitars on reverb. A surf guitar solo completes this teasin' 1995 track.

11. somebody else was sucking my dick last night - nothing but puke

Cover version of one of the filthiest song titles ever, originally by The Fred Wolff Combo. Shock rock group Nothing But Puke recorded it in 1998 for our Area/ Outcast Recordstore.

4. erotica - the phantom surfers

Actually this is a cover version of the instrumental surf rock classic "Exotica" copied by San Francisco surf creatures The Pantom Surfers in 1991 for Estrus Reocrds. See vol 34 for more info.

12. i sucked a lot of cock to get where i am - regurgitator

Australian trio that I included here, just because of this song title. Is it coincidence this song was recorded in Bangkok? See vol 93 for the better side.

5. just lust - buzzcocks

Buzzcock's best known song probably is "Ever fallen in love…" because of the stupid hit version by Fine Young Cannibals. Its B-side sounds to me like a mix of Beatle-esque punk rock and Happy Days' good feeling. From 1978 on United Artists.

13. cock in my pocket - the nuns

Why do they call it avantgarde punk? Fact is that they loved Iggy & The Stooges. Formed in 1977 in San Francisco and had the luck to open for The SexPistols in 1978. This live single, their third, was released in 1980 on Rosco Records.

6. orgasm addict - kyra rubella & the shanks

The Armitage Shanks are the backing band (and not Thee Headcoats) on this Headcoatee solo release on Damaged Goods in 1995. A Buzzcocks song never sounded like this before or after. It's like Kyra was having an orgasm in the recording studio. Who was Kyra Rubella? See vol 56 and 62 for more about Mrs Childish, or vol 71 for the flipside.

14. i like going topless, sunny - the budget girls

Troy Hess once sang "Please, don't go topless, mother". Here are The Budget Girls with their answer. Lightning Beatman released this on his Voodoo Rhythm label in the end of the 1990's. Hilarious country teaser waltz.

7. buttplug - beyond lickin'

Dirty Dutch lyrics, Milkshakes induced beat garage and a Cramps minded singer are the ingredients of Beyond Lickin', one of Holland's best kept secrets which I discovered at a Belgian Headcoats gig.

15. cum into my mouth - thee headcoatees

The x-rated version of the Headcoats' "Come into my world" sung by the four Headcoatees in 1991. An all-girl band, The Smears, covered this version in 1995 for Dionysus Records on a 10" release. Fantastic girlie garage smut.

8. pictures in a dirty magazine - the stoned

Both the label and the band are from The Netherlands. I have several 45s on this record label, but I can't find any info about this outfit and when it was recorded. It must have been the second half of the 90s. Unusual garage rock from Utrecht on Pornogram about jerking off at pictures in dirty magazines.

16. i wanna get fucked - thee headcoats

One of the fiercest Headcoats songs in their 11 year existence. This splitsingle is from 1997, released by Amphetamine Reptile Reocrds. The other side is by Lollipop. Their message is clear: stop the music because I wanna get fucked.
